MSD provides a range of on-campus services to meet the needs of students outside the classroom. See below for further information.
The Health Center's nursing staff provides basic medical care and medication administration for students. Several specialized services are also available.
The Resource Center's audiologist provides hearing evaluations, comprehensive hearing aid services, and other assistive technology services to MSD students.
Speech and Language Services
MSD provides a variety of services to enhance communication skills including articulation, auditory/listening skills, language (form, content, and use), speech reading, voice, phonemic awareness, oral-motor skills, and communication strategies. Two speech-language pathologists experienced in working with deaf and hard of hearing children are on staff to provide individual or group services as outlined in students' IEP's.
Occupational and Physical Therapy
MSD provides education-based occupational and physical therapy services. Contracted therapists skilled in working with children provide individualized services according to the needs outlined in students' IEP's.
MSD provides case management services for students and families who may need additional support to address medical, psychological, social, and educational needs. Service coordinators provide assistance to resolve issues affecting educational progress and work to enhance communication and coordination of services between students, families, MSD staff, and outside agencies.
