The Deaf Visual Arts Festival took place in St. Louis on March 29, 2025, offering MSD high school students and staff the chance to participate in various art techniques. The festival featured three different activities, including printmaking, clay building, and painting designs onto door mats. Students were able to learn the linocut technique during the printmaking lesson, where they carved designs into linoleum sheets, applied ink, and transferred the designs onto paper. Some students also created multiple prints during this activity. The event provided an opportunity for participants to explore their creativity and develop new artistic skills. Additionally, the festival aimed to promote a greater appreciation for the visual arts within the MSD community. By engaging in these activities, students were able to express themselves through art and gain a deeper understanding of the creative process. The festival was a valuable experience for all involved, fostering a positive environment for artistic expression and skill development.
