SPEECH LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT

Claire Mengwasser, MS, CCC-SLP, provides free speech and language assessments for deaf and hard of hearing students at the Resource Center when the student's local school district is unable to provide appropriate testing. Assessments

A comprehensive range of speech and language assessment options including:

  • Receptive and Expressive Vocabulary
  • Syntax
  • Pragmatics
  • Articulation, Voice, and Intelligibility
  • Auditory/Listening Skills
  • Speechreading
  • Pronunciation

Assessments can be administered through spoken English, American Sign Language, or a combination of the two.

Consulting

Mrs. Mengwasser is available to consult with families, school districts, professionals, and other organizations regarding hearing loss and the impact on language acquisition, cochlear implants and audition, speech-language assessment and therapy, and related concerns.
