The fifth-grade class of Mrs. Ponder recently visited the Missouri Veterinary Medical Foundation Museum and had an enriching experience. The students had the opportunity to learn about the history of Veterinary Medicine and gain insights into the founder of the museum. They were exposed to various instruments that have been used in the field, such as the trocar for relieving bloat in cows, as well as patent medicines and the LeGear Trunk used by Dr. L.D. LeGear. The hands-on area was a highlight for the students, allowing them to explore different types of teeth and furs, as well as view X-rays on an old X-ray reader. Additionally, they had access to educational videos and books, contributing to their overall learning experience. The staff and tour guide were commended for their warm welcome and informative presentation, which enhanced the students' understanding of veterinary medicine. The trip provided a valuable educational opportunity for the students, broadening their knowledge in this field.
