For the 13th year, zombies took over the MSD campus and a small group of students were left to gather information from around the campus, or all humanity would be lost.

The Zombie Dash is an event eagerly looked forward to every year. The humans, or students, wear flag football belts and using a map, go to certain locations around the campus to find a hidden clue. Once they’ve found it they mark it on their “Zombie Hunter ID” card and go in search of the next one. This year, there were 5 locations in all. The first team to make it back to Headquarters (HQ) with at least one survivor and the best time wins.

However, roaming the campus are zombies, volunteers who attempt to pull the flags from the humans’ belts. If all the flags are pulled, the human returns to HQ and becomes a zombie, now aiding the horde against their former teammates.

This year saw incredible tenacity from the students as they evaded the zombie horde for much of the game. Many close calls and surprises from the zombies kept the students running.

Near the end of the game only two humans remained, both needing one final clue. Both were cornered and one fell to the zombies, while the other made a break for it, obtained the clue, and in a flash of speed left the zombies behind. However, as the player slowed, his run turning to a walk, he rounded a corner, he did not see one zombie, and in a quick snatch, his final flag was taken!

It was a truly memorable year for the Zombie Dash, with students already planning strategy for next year and zombies working on costumes and twists as well. It was truly a memory they will cherish for a lifetime!
