Traditions, memories, and school pride!

Homecoming at Missouri School for the Deaf is a time-honored tradition that brings together students, staff, families, and alumni to celebrate and honor the school's community. Despite the lack of a traditional winter homecoming in recent years, the school has continued to uphold the spirit of homecoming through various activities and events. Following the temporary hold on sporting events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school faced challenges in generating enough interest in basketball, resulting in a shift towards wrestling. However, homecoming has remained a constant fixture, featuring a week-long spirit week, homeroom decorating contests, and a school-wide pep rally. The selection of a Homecoming King and Queen further highlights the sense of community and unity during this special occasion. Although the school has experienced changes in its athletic programs, the enduring tradition of homecoming continues to provide a meaningful and celebratory experience for all involved.

The pep rally included recognition of sports teams, clubs, and organizations, along with student-led activities by the Student Council and Jr. NAD officers. The event featured a chant from elementary students, performance by Music in Motion, and the announcement of the King and Queen. Students and staff left feeling inspired, energized, and a sense of belonging.
